What Is General English?
General English focuses on developing practical, everyday English skills, including speaking, listening, reading and writing. It is suitable for adults and students of all ages and abilities who want to improve their English, communicate more confidently or strengthen particular skills.
General English lessons can be especially useful if you frequently speak English at work, in social situations or when travelling abroad. Whether you are based locally in Stourbridge or 2000 miles away in Sumy, you can rely on Professional English Tutoring Ltd. to help with lessons that are fully tailored to your individual needs, confidence level and goals.
For those looking to improve their knowledge even further, Advanced English, Business English and English for Specific Purposes are also available.
Learn General English with an Experienced Teacher
I trained as an English as a Second Language teacher soon after graduating with my first degree in 1981. During my teaching career I have taught groups of Italian families, Bosnian refugees, Chinese young adults and teenagers, and a wide range of individual learners from all over the world, all with differing needs.
I can therefore offer a teaching approach that is tailored closely to your individual needs, abilities and goals. As a result, you will be able to benefit from classes that foster your learning in the most helpful way, while also building your confidence and understanding.
By combining coursebooks with my own teaching materials, I can create a curriculum that truly fulfils your needs rather than simply following a standard General English course. If you need to prepare for an exam, you can also take advantage of bespoke exam preparation lessons.
