Fees
I currently charge £40.00 per hour for GCSE tuition and £48.00 per hour for A level tuition. Undergraduate fees are negotiable, based on content and level. Reduced rates are available for groups of two or more students, subject to negotiation.
Please note that fees are payable monthly in advance by BACS or cheque.
Most of my lesson slots outside school hours tend to book up soon after the beginning of the September term, so please consider booking early to ensure you get a space. There may be spaces after that, but it is less likely. Obviously, daytime slots are easier to find.
Teaching days and times
I teach 6 days a week, with lessons available from Monday to Saturday. Pupils who are at school or college usually have lessons between 4pm and 10pm on weekdays, or on Saturdays. There is less competition for slots during school hours. So, if pupils have a free afternoon (e.g. in the sixth form), that can be a good time for the lessons. Pupils for whom I am the sole tutor, and who are not attending school or college, usually find that daytime lessons are best (although this is by no means necessary).
Lesson length
I find from experience that one and a half hours is the ideal length, allowing the student time to focus on the subject. However, this is completely negotiable, and I always try to meet the needs of individual students and families. Contact me for more details.
Travel
It is generally much better if students come to me for lessons, as I have all the resources to hand, and they can be accessed conveniently and spontaneously when needed. However, when this is impossible, I can travel to the student’s home at certain times in the week. Please note that there is a charge of 50p per mile for travelling.
I teach students from across the region, with some coming to me from Stratford-upon-Avon, Solihull, Birmingham, Telford, Stafford, Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wolverhampton.
